Think of this section as a sort of glossary of the types of things that we have done and can do
for you with our music. Don't feel like you're limited to these, we just wanted to let
you know some of the ways we know have worked in the past! Below is a handy list for quick
navigation of the glossary of terms

A concert usually is where we are the main event (or, if we are doing a the opening act for
the main event, see Mini-Concert) and we are
there to present through song and words the message of Jesus. We tailor the message of the songs
and what we say to whatever audience you tell us to expect. If you are expecting a group of solid,
mature, older Christans, we try our best to aim the program at them - to encourage them and build
them up in their faith. If you are expecting a lot of people who don't really have much if any
connection with Jesus, then we tailor our program to them - intoducing them to the Good News of
Jesus in a clear and precise way, relating to everyday life. A typical concert length is 1 hour
and 15 minutes. We can do more or less. As most of the songs are original, it is usually harder
to do much more without some kind of break in the middle.

A mini-concert is just a smaller version of the
"concert". It is still a series of our original songs strung together usually with some
thematic placement of the songs, woven together with spoken parts explaining the previous songs or
introducing the next, or expanding on something we've already been speaking of.

A twist on the concert idea, and something that we've really
enjoyed doing when we get the chance is the Worship Concert. The gist of it is that we take the
whole alloted time (or sometimes just a portion of it) and lead the group in worship through
congregational singing (familiar and new songs, some originals, too) and some
"performance" songs (the worship is through listening to the story the songs tell). In
between the songs, just like in a concert, I expand on the point the song was making, or lead into
the next... often tying back into a theme that has woven throughout all of the songs. It is a
great special program kind of thing. Works well in the summer when churches often do different
things. We have done several of these for campus ministry weekly meetings. It's one of our
favorite things to do, and seems to be a powerful and different way of connecting people with God
through music.

There are many aspects of worship leading that are able to help with. We
can step in and take the whole load (planning, leading, communicating with the people who assist in
making Sundays happen, even lead your worship team!) or we can simply join your worship team for
the day! We work with you to make sure that we are targeting who you are targeting (or, who you
are) with the style, and selection of songs. We will work with you on how to get the words to
people as well (i.e. Power Point slides, transparencies, song sheets, other?) Our typical
instrumentation is acoustic guitar and two vocals, but we can do any combination of guitar, and
keyboard and/or piano. Whatever suits your group, and would be most conducive to connecting your
people with Jesus. If you are in need of worship leading for any group of people, we are ready and
willing to help!

We regularly lead worship in an extended format for weekend
retreats. Most of what we said in the Worship Leading section applies here.
If you are doing any sort of retreat for any age group, or just a general church retreat, we can
lead worship for all the main session times in any style and format that you like. (Well, most
any...) :-) Retreats are amazingly powerful, and we've seen God use the musical worship times to
really affect people's hearts and lives. They are incredible, focused times of seeing God work!

Sometimes it works best for us to just fit in a song or two or
three into an already planned worship service. This can work to accent a current theme of the
worship service, or just lead people in a different way to consider some cool aspect of God. We do
these with either guitar or piano/keyboard instrumentation, and can be available for as many
worship times as you have.

One of our other favorite things to do is the coffee house
style concert. Most times this format of concert is in fact in a "coffee house". Other
times it is in a make-shift, temporary version of same. But, what mainly makes a coffee house is
the atmosphere. It is a casual, laid-back environment where listeners are usually chatting at
their table and moving about, simply enjoying the atmosphere. There is usually some sort of light
food and drink (yes, coffee!) and candles and if you're lucky, incense! We end up being, in a way,
"background" music. But the neat thing is, at any given time, some people are listening
intently. It's always neat to see whose ear God is bending with which song. :-)

A House Concert is something we first heard of through a friend
of ours named Derek Shacklett He had a
link on his site inviting people to have him come do a "house concert" for them. I
thought it was neat! So neat that we did a couple this spring, and will line up a couple for sure
next spring... and hopefully lots more!!! We would love to do this! This is the informal,
intimate atmosphere of the coffee house, with the intentionalness of a concert (and the ability to
say something with the whole program not just song by song). Such a cool idea!!!! If you want to
have us come do a house concert at your place... do these two things. 1) Go to this web site www.ifolk.org/hc and read up on what a house
concert is and how to do one, and then 2) go to our Booking Form
and book us at YOUR HOUSE!!!! How cool is that!?!?!? We look forward to it!!!

Have you ever noticed that everytime there is a festival of
any kind, there is always live music? Well, our style, in most cases, fits perfectly with that
venue! Whether upbeat, full band instrumentation, or the more folky, acoustic version of things...
our music seems to fit! We have not gotten to do many of these, but we look forward to doing a
bunch of them next year. Plenty of opportunities out there! If you are coordinating a festival or
know of one near you, let us know... and book us now! :-)

There are a couple other things I was thinking of when I made
this "other" category... but the main thing is something that we are very passionate about
and are eager to share with as many people as possible (almost as much as our music!). We have
found that the way that our culture does relationships leaves much to be desired. Even among
Christians. And from a careful study of God's Word, it's easy to see why there is so much pain and
badness in relationships today... we're not doing it the way He designed us to! God designed the
perfect relationship to be between one man, and one woman... for life! That is the name of our
series - which can be described as an alternative to dating - One Man, One Woman. We have taught this in various
forms for youth groups of all ages (Jr High-College) and a general audience as well. We have
presented it usually in one sitting, but ideally it's at least two, and perhaps even a retreat
topic. We are currently working on the book by the same title, and would love to share what we
have learned from God's Word and from our experiences with you and your group. If that would help
your ministry or your group, send us an e-mail at omow@basicmm.com for more info!

All of this will hopeful make it easier on you and on us to work together to advance God's Kingdom,
and connect lots of people with Jesus through music. We're looking forward to working with you
toward that end!
