Welcome to the new eNews! Greg & Jen Campbell here, aka "basic". Many of you have been receiving the basic e-news for years now, at varying intervals. Some of you are brand new to the list, and it was so long ago that you signed up that you are having a hard time remembering who in the world these people are! Very sorry for that. BUT, whoever you are, and how ever you got here, we're glad you're here! We will definitely continue to send these updates out to you on a somewhat regular basis (I have purposely never indicated a specific interval...) :-) And hopefully the new layout makes them even more fun to receive! Since it's been SO LONG since you have received such an e-mail... there is much to catch you up on, but we want to highlight some of the new things going on right now. Greg's New Book!A Journey Shared As many of you know, I love to write, and so have been keeping a sort of online journal of the stories and thoughts those events inspire along the way since late in 2003. Well, some folks said I should look into publishing those in book form. I didn't think it would be feasible, but found out quite the opposite! Within just a few months of beginning the process, A Journey Shared is here!!! Five main sections deal with the everyday challenges of understanding and dealing with sin, the many aspects of doing life together with other people, the pain and ultimately the hope of dealing with lives lost, and the slow struggle of learning to trust the love of our Father along the way. How great is our God! And how great is this life we live with Him! Life like it oughta be! Jesus said, "I came that you might have life, and life to the full!" And that's what this Journey is about. NEW Live Worship CD!!!
That's right! A new CD is now available at the basic e-store! We were able to record some of the music we did at the PCTC (Pennsylvania Christian Teen Convention) in Harrisburg at the end of February, and with a little tweaking, it sounds pretty good! :-) (You never know what to expect with a live recording...)PCTC 2005: Live at The Forum Just $4.95  This CD contains new basic originals, like Worship, Eyes To See You and Fill Me. And ten more tracks of well-known worship songs like, Famous One, Not To Us, God of Wonders, and Blessed Be Your Name! Lots of great stuff, and a fantastic band playing with us... a fun addition to your "basic" cd collection! But the most fun part perhaps is the price! They are only $4.95! Due to license restrictions, we can only sell these CDs for $4.95, and only 50% of the room. (There were about 1000 people there.) So, limited quantities, but a super low price! Upcoming GigsWe are singing at a couple of different venues this weekend. Both local (Rochester, NY area). If you are free, we'd love for you to join us! Saturday, March 19th - Edgewood Free Methodist Church Benefit Concert for Bethany Christian Adoption Agency We are singing at the Edgewood FMC this Saturday, and it's more than just your "basic" concert! It is to raise funds and awareness for a Rochester-based adoption agency, Bethany Christian Adoption Agency. They will begin operations here hopefully by the fall. There is no admission charge, but a free-will offering will be taken for the agency. Your support is greatly appreciated. The concert begins at 7:00pm, and the program will run around an hour or so. We have not been doing many gigs locally, so hope to see a bunch of you guys out there!!! Contact Edgewood for directions or more information! Sunday, March 20th - Towpath Manor I don't know that this concert is open to the public, but I thought I'd let you know anyway. :-) We're singing for a retirement home of some sort at 2:00pm this Sunday. Should be a blast! Right around the corner from our house. Perhaps we'll get to know some of these folks and make this a regular visit! If you're in town, I'm sure it would be ok to poke your head in and help us sing! :-) More... We're leading worship for the easter services at Crosswinds Wesleyan Church in Canandaigua, NY next weekend. They are even adding a service. The times will be 6:30pm Saturday, then 8:30am, 10:00am and 11:30am Sunday. Whoa! Busy weekend! Hope you can join us! For more upcoming dates, please stop by our calendar page. 
Taking A BreakDid you know that we first started singing as basic back in 1995? The first CD came out in 1996. That is TEN years ago!!! We can't even believe it!!! Now several albums later, with a van and trailer in tow, lots of gear, and yes... three amazing kids... we're still at it! God has opened so many doors, and offered us so many chances to share his love through music! It's been great! But this past fall, amongst many trying experiences... we both started thinking... it's time for a break. Now, don't get too upset! We're not done! :-) We will probably begin work on the next studio project sometime this year. And we have events scheduled through the end of the year... just, far more sparse than usual. 2004 was a very busy year for us, and with three young kiddos, and 10 long years of basic-ing (almost 6 we've been at it full-time)... well, we just feel like it's time for some sort of rest. We would LOVE for you all to pray for us during this down time. We want so much to see what God wants to do through us, musically and otherwise. This is such a great way he has given us to share his love with people, and we look forward to doing more! We really want to do whatever we do in the way God can work most. So, please do pray with us for wisdom and rest and peace and clarity. All those would be good. In the meantime... We'll be performing sporatically around the region, and even a few out of state gigs in the upcoming months. Hopefully I can work on some more writing projects! And, we'll be plugging in a bit more in our community, leading a parenting group, and we hope just enjoying time with our friends and neighbors... and letting God use us to His purpose in their lives and ours. As I mentioned, we hope to begin work on a studio worship project, perhaps available as early as 2006. And I'll be doing a lot of behind the scenes work to get our Christmas CD into all sorts of places, including iTunes Music Store and even some local radio stations. (Not Christian stations). Ian is doing so great with his schooling (Jen is doing great teaching!) and even Alex, who is 3, is loving his homeschool activities! I am also pursuing various opportunities to sell Apple Computer products! We'll see where that takes me. If you have not seen Apple lately, stop by for a visit! Amazing Stuff! So, for a time, we are resting. We'll keep you updated on what is next! Thanks in advance for your prayers! 
Do You Need A Website?Probably one of the main things I will be doing over this down time will be web design and graphic work. I began doing that a bit more seriously last year and it has exploded! I have a too-big-to-be-doing-this-enews-update backlog of clients and more on the way!! That is great! So I wanted to offer an invitation to you.
