/basic e-news/ Vol 5. - Issue 9 [December 14th, 2005]

This Christmas season, we have once again dusted off the annual favorites and sung them to dozens and dozens of folks, in various locations, at various volumes. Joy To The World, Hark The Herald Angels Sing, Feliz Navidad... classics like that. :-) But so far, of all the songs we have sung, our son Alex has definitely selected a favorite! He loves the song "Do You Hear What I Hear?". :-) It's so cute to hear him echo back that line whether in our home, singing for fun, or out for a walk in our town, or even in the mall as we sang last week - OVER the sound system! (He's got his father's lungs...) :-)

There are a few more chances to come sing the holiday favorites (and Alex's favorites) with us this year. But, only a few. Read on for details... :-)

Wednesday, Dec 14 - 7:30pm - Webster, NY
We sang at the new Palmyra coffee house (Coffee Creek) this past Saturday, and our audience was the crew of two working, and one patron! Not a big turn out... :-) But it was a fun night anyway. A very "intimate" concert! :-) As they are around a while, more people will begin to discover that they are there. Well, that is what has happened with Earthtones Coffee House in Webster, NY! There's always a great crowd there, whether we are singing or not! We'll be there tonight from 7:30 to 9:30pm. They've got some really great holiday drinks, and good gift ideas if you have a coffee fan on your Christmas list! So come join us TONIGHT in Webster for some Christmas fun! :-)

Saturday, Dec 17 - 12:00pm - Newark, NY
If by this Saturday you still have some Christmas shopping to do, may we recommend the Wal-Mart in Newark, NY? :-) We'll be there singing right in the front entrance from 12 noon till 2:00pm! It will be lots of fun, and crowded! Come by and sing along as you shop!

Sunday, Dec 18 - 10:00am - Palmyra, NY
We will be joining our friends at Cross Creek Church again for their annual Christmas program at the Pal/Mac High School this coming Sunday. We'll be doing two songs with their band. It's usually a fun program with all sorts of Christmas goodies integrated into some theme. This year, I believe it's a drama. So come on out if you are available this Sunday morning at 10:00am!

Friday, Dec 23 - 7:30pm - Fairport, NY
I believe the first time we played at Fairport Village Coffee was during the Christmas season some four or five years ago! We played in their tiny little space and it was packed with 40 people or so!!! That was fun, but cramped! Well, now they have moved just up the street to a GREAT new location (in the Box Factory) and have plenty of space for everyone! Again, great holiday drinks, fun, relaxing atomsphere... and Christmas music with basic!!! :-) Come join us next Friday (the 23rd) in Fairport!

We told you last week that the MacCast had featured our song Joy To The World. Well, this week, and this whole month, our friend at StudyLight.org has decided to feature our Christmas CD! He gave us some free advertising space on his site (3 randomly appearing banners) and he even wrote a little promo to alert all his visitors to the special deal this month. (Check out his forums to see his promo.)

There is a point to his generosity. :-) He asked if we'd be willing to sell our CDs for a special StudyLight discount, ($11.95) and if we hit a certain amount of sales, we can "pay" for our advertising by purchasing some equipment/software he could use in the development of his site. If we don't reach those sales numbers, we owe nothing. Sounded good to us, so we're in! :-)
